What will the job cost me?
Every job gets a written quote before work starts, so you see the full figure up front. Approve it and we begin, or decline it and owe nothing.
Is there a fee just for coming out?
No. The call out is free, so raising a small drip or a slow drain costs you nothing. You only pay for work you've looked at and approved.
Do I have to accept the quote?
You're never locked in. The quote is an offer, not a contract. If the figure doesn't suit, say so and we pack up without charging you a cent.
Why quote before starting the work?
Because surprises belong in the job, not the invoice. Pricing everything first means the number you approve is the number you pay, even if the work runs longer than planned.

How quickly can someone get here?

What counts as an emergency worth calling about?
A burst pipe flooding the laundry, a toilet backing up through the pan, or a hot water system that's let go. If water is heading somewhere it shouldn't, ring straight away.
Which suburbs do you work across?

What if I live just over the boundary?

Is gas work part of the service?
Yes. Cooktop connections, new gas points and repairs to older runs are done by plumbers with gas work on their licence. Plenty of postwar homes here were converted decades ago.
Can you handle rental and commercial work?
Both. Rental turnovers and commercial jobs around the four-school highway cluster are regular work, and we can attend several properties in the one visit where the diary allows.

Why do so many older houses here have weak water pressure?

Why do drains block across whole streets at once?

Should I ring Hunter Water or a plumber?
Depends where the fault sits. Your pipes and drains are ours; the street main, the meter and the sewer main in the road belong to Hunter Water. Ring us if unsure.
Are the old hot water tanks here worth repairing?
Most here are run until they quit, especially in the ex-commission rentals, so a repair is worth trying only while the tank itself still holds. We'll tell you honestly which side it's on.
Do tree roots really get into the old clay pipes?
The streets are literally named for trees, and mature roots hunt the 1960s clay joints beneath them. A camera inspection shows how far they've got before anything is dug.
